Frenzied birds on nuts action

21 Dec 2006 / 0 Comments / in natural world

To be honest, we haven’t seen much feathery action in the garden since I put out a bird table in October. But since it has been cold, foggy and frosty over the past couple of days, the little birds in the neighbourhood have finally got their act together and descended on the pile of tasty treats on my bird table.

I’ve had jackdaws, a robin, blackbirds and great tits visit to dine upon the feast of stale oatcakes and old couscous.

A whole colony of very pretty blue tits have been busy at the nuts…

…as has a lone greenfinch.

But what would really make me happy is a goldfinch, but so far no cigar.
