Yesterday Moth and I took our sons to the Cotswold Wildlife Park where white rhinos wallow in mud in front of the old manor house.
There’s lots of room for boisterous lads to run around and tons of interesting things to see, animal and botanical. We all particularly liked the penguins in the charming walled garden.
But my and Rupert’s highlight was to meet this little creature…
… a baby Brazilian tapir tapirus terrestris terrestris, born only 30 minutes before I took this photo. When we arrived at their enclosure, mummy tapir, called Squidge, was still licking her wet and still slightly bloody baby, and nibbling up afterbirth.
Baby tapir could barely stand and wobbled in a comedy Bambi way.
