Garden visitors

My friend K has stayed with us a couple of times recently. Like me, she is fascinated with the natural world.

I tend to get excited when we get goldfinches in the garden, or more recently, a hedgehog. But K takes a particular interest in the micro-world – the tiny living creatures that most of us don’t even notice.

She recently spent many happy hours watching the wildlife in our garden and was thrilled at the different types of bees sucking pollen from the catmint, the copulating shield bugs, a ladybird preying on aphids…

She has a camera with a superb high resolution macro feature on it which means she get up to her tiny subjects unfeasibly close.

I just wanted to share with you her lovely photos of the beautiful and unnoticed things she spotted in the garden. Thank you K, please come and chill out in the garden with us again soon.
