Today’s Oxford Times reports on last week’s decision by West Oxfordshire District Council not to look again at the toll problem at Swinford bridge.
Yesterday’s local council elections had the usual awful average turnout of only 36% nationally. It’s hardly surprising voters can’t be bothered to vote when those who are meant to represent them don’t listen to what they want.
Meanwhile the online petition to scrap the tolls just keeps on growing.
I’m left wondering exactly how many signatures we’re going to need before the politicians will listen to the people of West Oxfordshire who are quite clearly saying “scrap the tolls!”
