Magic places, magic people

02 Jan 2007 / in stone hugging, travels

I intended to blog loads over the holiday period but have been so miserable I haven’t felt able to. To cheer myself up a bit I was thinking about the wonderful things I did in 2006. Two moments stand out. Allow me to indulge myself and share them with you.

Here are Jamie, Joolio, Moth, Vybik, me, Cloudhigh, Margaret and Moey:

We are standing at Cnoc Fillibhear Bheag stone circle on the island of Lewis, in early July learning about this monument, wondering what it might have been used for 5,000 years ago… What a splendid bunch of people to spend time with.

And here’s me with son Rupert and best woman Bec at South Stack bird reserve on Holy Island, Anglesey.

All around us the light was clear, the colours bright and burning, the sea air fresh and clean, and the birds wheeled and soared. Heaven.

The places are breath-taking in their own right, but it’s having people you love and respect to share them with that makes them magical.

This is a demo store for testing purposes — no orders shall be fulfilled.
